Overview
The mission of the Haines City Public Library is to provide comprehensive and effective library and information services to meet the needs of the Haines City community. To achieve this mission, the library gives primary emphasis to supplying reference services and current popular materials, in a variety of formats, to patrons of all ages. The library also plays an important role in the community as an informal education center for preschoolers and individuals of any age
Library Resources
The Polk County Library Cooperative provides access to search, request, and renew your items online along with access to the Gale databases and Florida Electronic Library for research.
To access Polk County Library Cooperative through our app, simply install the PCLC app onto your apple or android device, and then sign in using your library card.
With Overdrive, you can borrow and enjoy free eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your library’s digital collection. All you need is an Internet connection and a library card.
The Florida Electronic Library (FEL) is a gateway to electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias and books, and the Ask a Librarian reference service.
Accessible Archives utilizes computer technology and a large team of conversion specialists to provide easy to use access to vast quantities of archived historical information previously available only in microformat, hard copy form or as images.
Diverse primary source materials reflecting broad views across American history and culture have been assembled into comprehensive databases. These databases allow access to the rich store of materials from leading books, newspapers and periodicals then current.
Career Online High School information
Thank you for your interest. As of June 2023, Career Online High School has been put on hold due to lack of state funding.

The Florida Department of Children and Families is committed to its mission of protecting the vulnerable, promoting strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advancing personal and family recovery and resiliency. The Haines City Library is an Automated Community Connection to Economic Self Sufficiency (ACCESS) partner. The ACCESS Florida system allows customers to connect with their public assistance information 24/7, through the online application and MyACCESS Account. The Economic Self-Sufficiency Program helps to promote strong and economically self-sufficient communities by determining eligibility for food, cash and medical assistance for individuals and families on the road to economic recovery. Library computers are available for persons to apply for assistance. Some Library staff have taken the required training to answer basic questions.
The Social Security Administration is committed to helping maintain the basic well-being and protection of the people they serve. They pay benefits to over 60 million people including retirees, children, widows, and widowers. From birth, to marriage, and into retirement, they are there to provide support throughout life's journey.
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education and enforcement. People get a driver license to operate their vehicles or for photo identification purposes. They register and title their automobiles, mobile homes, and boats. They may receive assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol if they are involved in a crash or their vehicle breaks down along Florida’s highways. Often the Patrol will remind drivers to slow down and buckle up.
In cooperation with the Polk County Supervisor of Elections, the Haines City Library has voter registration cards available. Residents can pick up a blank card to take home, fill out, and mail in themselves. Alternatively, residents may opt to fill out a voter registration card at the Library and we will mail it for them.
