[ARCHIVED] Johnson Avenue Closed for Three Weeks

orange and white stripped road barricade

For three weeks, beginning on Monday, Feb. 28, road closures will take place along Johnson Avenue from U.S. 17/92 to North 18th Street as an ongoing sewer main replacement takes place.

Westbound traffic on Johnson Avenue will detour south along North 18th Street, then west on Summit Avenue to U.S. 17/92. Eastbound traffic will detour south onto U.S. 17/92, then east on Summit Avenue to N. 18th Street.

While detours are short, travel delays and heavy congestion are expected during peak-hour commutes. Motorists should add extra time for trips through the area or consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

For more information, contact the Polk County Roads and Drainage Division at 863-535-2200.
