WEBSITE PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Haines City anticipates applying for the Rebuild Florida General Planning Support Program (GPS) funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This program was established to support long-term mitigation efforts by assisting the State of Florida and its local governments in minimizing or eliminating the risks and reducing losses from future disasters. This program is being administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) through the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) Program. The DEO allocated a total of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000.00) in funding for the Rebuild Florida GPS Program.

The City of Haines City anticipates applying through the CDBG-MIT GPS. This funding is to perform wastewater collection system analysis and data collection tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to, lift station data collection, lift station analysis, pressurized wastewater collection system modeling, gravity wastewater collection system accounting, and a criticality analysis of the pressurized collection system.

Activities that are typically eligible for funding under the CDBG Program are suitable. Other specific additional activities, as outlined in the State of Florida CDBG-MIT Action Plan, are generally permissible, as well, if no other funding is available to meet the need. Applications are due to DEO no later than July 31, 2020.

The City of Haines City anticipates submitting applications for the procurement of these services upon award of the grant, after a reasonable time frame.
