    Mayor Morris West cordially invites you to participate in the Mayor’s 5K, benefiting Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. The race will start at 7:15AM at Lake Eva Park and the cost is $25 per runner. All runners will receive a shirt. For guaranteed sizes, please register by October 1. First place finisher and women's and men's categories will receive a trophy. To register please visit the Lake Eva Community Center at 555 Ledwith Ave., Haines City or call (863) 421-3700 for more information.

  4. Touch-A-Truck: Trunk-or-Treat

    Haines City is proud to present this year's edition of Touch-a-Truck: Trunk or Treat. This year's event will take place at Lake Eva Park. Touch-a-Truck is a family event for kids to explore all types of vehicles! We will have police cars, emergency vehicles, trucks, farm & construction equipment, tow trucks, and more! We will also have food trucks, bounce houses & crafts! This year's event will be Halloween themed and we encourage you to wear your most spooktacular costume! Bring your carved pumpkins for a chance to win the pumpkin carving contest(pumpkins to be carved at home). If your business is interested in bringing out a vehicle please contact our Parks and Recreation team at parksandrec@hainescity.com

  1. Heidi's Academy of the Performing Arts

    October 17, 2019, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Oakland Auditorium

    Heidi Yancey is originally from Newark, Delaware. Heidi has four brothers and is the only girl. At the age of five years old, Heidi would watch the television show "Fame". The well-known performer, Debbie Allen, inspired her. Heidi started taking her first dance class which was ballet. Heidi was the only African American girl in her class, so she faced many difficult challenges. By the age thirteen, Heidi was taking ballet, tap, and jazz. Heidi later became Delaware's first African American Ballerina to dance as a soloist in the ballet "Cinderella." We are lucky to have such a talent to teach our youth the art of dance.
